Essential Checkpoints for Denture Wax Bite Try-In
- Midline Alignment ✅ (Mark the midline on the wax bite for accurate reference.)
- Vertical Dimension of Occlusion (VDO) Adjustment
- If the VDO is excessive, reduce the wax accordingly.
- If the VDO is insufficient, add Blue Bite to the required height for proper occlusal balance.
- Centric Relation (CR) Stability
- Lip Support & Facial Aesthetics (A critical factor that must be assessed.)
- If the arch appears overly bulky, trim the wax bite to achieve a more natural contour.
- If the arch is too narrow, creating a sunken facial appearance, apply Blue Bite to the facial and buccal areas to expand the arch appropriately.
- Occlusal Plane Alignment (Indicate key reference points on the wax bite.)
- Posterior Teeth Position & Overjet/Overbite Evaluation
- Phonetics & Speech Assessment (Ensure proper articulation and clarity in pronunciation.)
- Wax Rim Retention & Stability (Perform a Right Bite to confirm optimal retention and fit.)
💡 At a minimum, checkpoints 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8 should be carefully evaluated to ensure a functional, stable, and aesthetically pleasing final denture.
